Avalon AS201CE

Would someone be so kind as to give me an honest review on this guitar?

Inexpensive guitars always unnerve me. Good for recording? Good for playing live? Action? Does it feel cheap? etc.

I have an opportunity to purchase one.

Thank you!

I can give you a review of an AS201.

It's a good guitar. I've had mine tweaked and upgraded a little in the Avalon factory, but in its original spec it was still good.

the AS series were made by Cort in Korea to Avalon specification and that means it is as good as any mass produced guitar out there and better than most.

If you are plugging it in, the Fishman electrics are very good.

It's not a top end model, but it's great value for money.

AS201CE

Postby MIKE 450 » 25 Nov 2008, 02:09

Hi David, I think we may have meet a couple of time's in the Kinnegar yacht club if I'm right. I was playing there the same night as Billy Harrison "former member of THEM" I also have a couple of pics of the great night and a couple of pics of my AS201CE at www.myspace.com/michaeldickinson1 -- There where a lot of great guitar's there that night Billy choose my AS201CE to play and handed it back to me covered in he's blood such is the man passion or to many visit's to the bar. However he went on to blow us all away, after the show I asked him why he picked the AS201CE, He said he sat there all night watching all us play and love the sound. he did pick up a few other guitar's but settled for the 201 because he loved the feel and sound of it.
If you are the same young David that was there that night well done your one hell of a Guitarist and I loved your Avalon. Don't think twice David about buying the 201 these guitar's where £600 back in 2003 so they were'nt cheap, the Guitarist Magazine review that year said they where better than £1600 guitar's and if not "HAT'S WILL BE EATEN" that's why I bought mine and to be very honest very few acoustic's will match it for sound plugged or unplugged great pickup system-- and No other guitar will match it for price.
