Slight Belly Bulge

Postby CelticJam » 15 Oct 2008, 16:04

I've noticed a slight bulge below the bridge on my L32. I live in Colorado so the humidity level is not tremendous. I use a guitar case humidifier (Keyser sound hole type sponge). Is this belly-ing something to be concerned with and what can I do about it? I use EJ-16 strings.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin, it is quite normal for a guitar to have a slight bulge behind the bridge and nothing to worry about.

If the bulge increased and caused unusually higher action than normal then you'd want to get it checked.

Thanks for the peace of mind, JB. This is by far my favorite guitar and I don't want anything to go wrong with it.

Could the guitar be pregnant?
Perhaps it's going to give birth to a couple of little Avalons.

Lucky you I say!

Oh, I could only hope! But that opens up a whole can of worms. I thought we were still in the honeymoon phase of this relationship. I guess I could handle a long term commitment and some Avalon babies! Maybe a Koa and an Amazique. :D
