The use of Cherry in guitar building

I was wondering if you had tried using Cherry for the back and sides of any of your guitars.As a sustainable resource it obviously has its benefits but how does it compare as a tonewood.

We've made a Cherry wood small body a few years ago ... the response reminded me of a cross between maple and mahogany.
