Avalon A25x

Postby rustwood » 21 Jun 2008, 10:39

I have been offered an Avalon legacy A25x (brand new - made in April) for £900.

I've searched the web but can find no mention of such a model.

Could anyone please advise me if this is a good price ?

Thanks

The A25 is a Legacy series rosewood/cedar auditorium style guitar. The 'X' denotes a variation from the standard spec - usually a custom detail, maybe a different style of rosette or some fretboard inlay. Whatever the variation, that's an exceptionally good price if the guitar is on mint condition - however, remember that the warranty is only valid to the original purchaser.

Update

Following my query, I bit the proverbial bullet, took a chance and bought it. Best decision I ever made with regard to a guitar. It arrived, brand new, not a hint of ever being played. What a stunning sound! I took it along to our regular pub night sessions and just blew everyone away from the first few chords.
I also have a Brook Tamar (and I NEVER) thought I would say this, but I much prefer the Avalon. I am seriously considering selling it to raise the necessary cash to buy a nylon strung Avalon as well.
