When was my Legacy A12CE made?

Postby farabover » 14 Apr 2008, 13:24

Hello!

I'm new here, and I have a question about my Avalon Legacy A12CE, I bought a year ago. The serial number is L-000599. When was it made ?

Cheers,

Rickard

Hi Rickard and welcome to the forums :)

Your guitar was finished in Sept 2004

Ok, thanks. Always fun to know. But how long time does it takes to make a Avalon Legacy, like mine?

Brazilian Rosewood bridges are the default option so most likely yes ... the only other wood we would use is Ebony and you know if you have an Ebony bridge fitted, it's black.

How do you like the a12? Lets see some pics man! Here is mine, and the serial is pretty close to yours as well L000577. Where are you located?

Hey JB, I know you got better things to do than look up guitar build dates, but while you have the 2004 book out... LOL what is the build date for mine? I assume earlier in the year, since the number is lower.

Actually Lewddude your A12 is younger, Dec 05 but that's not unusual, the guitars get stamped once the sides are bent and blocked but may not be used immediately.

That is a beautiful guitar! :D

If I ever get a custom one made by the Avalon lads, it will have that gorgeous celtic knot! :D

If you don't mind me asking, why to you have the handle "lewddude"? I mean, how lewd are you?

John

LOL, actually it's a stage name... I play in a group called "The Surfalicious Dudes" I am Lewd Dude, The bass player is Stewd Dude, and the drummer is Sticky Dude, and together we are "Wyld Stallyns"... oh, a, yeah, wrong band...LOL Together we are Lewd, Stewd, and Sticky... Ha ha ha. It gets better yet! We have Go Go dancers, Starkist, and Bumblebee The Tuna Twins!

Well, You asked!

I was gonna ask you if they were dated from start or on completion, but I guess it's neither...LOL

JB, I can't stress enough how cool it is that you guys take the time to interact with the masses... It really lends to your "brand". If the quality of the guitar did not already win my loyalty, your customer service absolutely would have. So Thank you again!

Ron AKA Lewd ;-)

Oh, P.S.
Just a thought, but you guys might think about selling a "second hand" "Re-certification" of your lifetime warrantee? Folks could send their pre-owned Avalon Guitars to you for inspection, if all looks good you could sell them the warrantee(free money), and if you find a problem, they could have you fix it! (you still make some money either way), all parties win! And if the idea pans out for ya, and you start to make some money, you can commission me a custom one off Avalon

Hi! Nice guitar :) My Legacy is pretty close to yours, except it has cutaway and no decoration below the "A" on the guitarhead. I dont have a picture of it.

Yeah, it is intense. My drummer is half naked and dripping wet by the end of the set (45 min- 1 hr)
