width of split saddle on D32CE? & preamp advice

Postby rocksteady » 29 Mar 2008, 02:36

I don't have mine yet but am looking at replacing the existing prefix pro preamp with a Fishman prefix premium blend.
It has alot of nice features and has the condensor on the boom.
Do you know if the prefix premium is compatible with the split pickup format of the D32CE?
I see that a prefix premium blend can be ordered wide , narrow or split format (special order).
Do you have any info on this? Here is a link to view the details and manual.

Thanks again,

I guess the important thing I need to know is : Does the split pick up format have a connector that will connect to the Prefix premium blend.

I may be wrong but I am assuming that the single pickup "plugs into the preamp with something like a mini pin. Are the connectors the same for the split as for the single pickups?

I e-mailed Fishman website, but it is Friday night and I don't expect ananswer for at least mon or so.

The split pick-up is compatible, there's no plug, just 2 wires that you fix into the screw block ... easy :)

That is teriffic. thanks JB. The prefix pro was nice but the premium is nicer. I like the gooseneck PU and the chromatic tuner onboard.

You have been so much help to someone who is new to the Avalon experience.

I am going to be the word of mouth for this company in my area of the United States. I live in the south easter region of Kentucky where it meets Tennesse and Virginia. As you can imagine acoustic guit is real big around here for country music.

I perform all over this area with a Contemporary Christian music group. We use electrics heavily but I do a lot of music with my first love, that is, an acoustic guitar.

My roots lie heavily in classical finger picking style as my father taught me, and although I do love to rip up an electric guitar, there is nothing like sitting down and playing an acoustic guitar. And Avalon has made it an even more nicer of an experience. I thought that I was doing good with my Takamine..:) I never did care much for Taylors, except on or two of there high end models.

any way,,It's Avalon all the way for me now!!

:D :D

Thanks again
