Waiting a a Gold Avalon D200CE!! wooo hoo!

Postby rocksteady » 22 Mar 2008, 17:43

Hi everyone. This is my first post!!
I just purchased an Avalon Gold D200CE from a man on Ebay. The guitar is stated to be in perfect condition with a hardshell case. I paid USD $721.00 + shipping
I don't have it yet so I don't know the serial#. I have 2 questions. I have seen post on this forum about this guitar but not too many. Is it not a commmon or popular model?

Question 1. It has an abalone rosette instead of wood. I have seen one post that stated it was made in Czech republic and another on stating that the D200CE was the one Gold that was made in Ireland. Does anyone have any other info?

Question 2. I have only played one Avalon before and I am not sure what model it was. It played and sounded amazing. I have a Takamine Santa Fe and although I think mine sounds and plays very well, the Avalon's tone was so much richer for lack of better words.

Is there a lot of difference in playability and tone of the 200CE vs other models of Avalon? Just would like some opinions as I do not have the opportunity to play any others and may want to order another one later. There are so many models.

As a side note too all of this, My mother was born and raised in London England, and many of my relatives I am told are of Irish heritage. I am pleased to have a guitar with this heritage.
Thanks,

Don Reynolds

Are saying that my information is correct that it's made in Czech reepublic OR that it is the one gold that is made in Ireland? I will check the serial # when I get it this week. Thanks for the reply JB. I can't wait to play it.

if the serial is like "A00123" then it's definitely made in Ireland by us.
