Avalon factory tour.

Postby David » 21 Mar 2008, 19:19

I have just spent an enthralling hour being shown around the Avalon Factory in Newtownards. I had left my guitar in to have it tweaked and JB had arranged a tour for my wife, two sons ( 10 & 8 ) and me. I expected a ten minute walk around, but no, we got the full guided tour and story of an Avalon guitar from rough sawn timber to work of art. My kids were really fascinated.
When you are told that Avalon guitars are handmade; they mean handmade with genuine passion and meticulous attention to detail. It is terrific to see people talk about their work with such feeling and a great way to spend an hour.
Thanks to all the guys for taking so much time with us, particularly the boys, they attentively answered all their questions, even the daft ones!

As my wife said on the way home; "You just don't get customer relations like that".

And the best thing of all is that my wife now knows what I am jabbering on about when I say how lovely Avalon guitars are. :D

Fantastic stuff David JB invited me over, must bring my wife she says I love my Avalon more than her as for customer relations, I was in Ards a week ago walked down the high st asked a few locals where can you get a good ulster fry"breakfast in N ire." will not mention name of restaurtant" sat down fry came, "well it looked like plastic". it was the worst ulster fry I've ever come across everything was deep fryed including the pancake, no no no I thought not in Ards not in the home of Avalon you stupid--------how can you get it so wrong when I pushed it away and went to pay my bill the girl at the checkout said in an Ards accent "which I love" was your fry alright for ye, I said nothing and walk out, so my question is where in Ards do you boys eat, thinking back I should have bought an ice cream in the shop a couple of doors away.
