Thanks for the quick answer Jim. I have never played a guitar that sounds or feels as goods as my A32. The only guitar that came close was a J45 in the sound department, but the shape was not quite right for me. I love the fact that the guitars are made in Northern Ireland, I love the build quality, and most of all I love the sound.

What would you get for the same money from Martin & Co? Nothing anywhere near the quality of these guitars (IMO). I can understand people loving the vintage martin's, some modern Taylors, and certain Gibson acoustics, but unless you have got SERIOUS cash on the hip you should look no further.

I think with the Americana range, and the positive coverage it is getting in the guitar mags, the reputation of Avalon can only get bigger and better. :D

Hi,
New here, nice forum. I have Carl Verheyen. Really sweet guitar. I also have a Lowden 032 and a Martin OM-28 Marquis. None better than the others tone or playability wise, but all very different, all very usable and I am grateful. All are very inspiring. To me a guitar is either inspiring or not and I can tell in 3 secs. My Lowden O32 sounds like a piano to me, love it! My Martin is very sweet, loud and warm. The Avalon is also piano-like, great single note projection and exciting to play, very fast guitar. Which is the best? None, all serve a purpose. Which is my fav? Different ones on different days.
To me they're like colors. Green is great but having only green to paint with is limiting. The Avalons are, to me are more individual and special than the Martin, don't know why, just are.
