Avalon L-25 on the way to me!!

Postby play2praiseHim » 08 Jan 2005, 05:25

My new L-25 should arrive to me on thursday. I can't wait until I can see and play this guitar in person. I bought it on great recommendations and after listening to it over the phone. Got it from the best dealer that I have ever dealt with, Wldwood Music in Ohio. Don and Marty are awesome!!! Their hospitality and prices are unmatched!! Set out looking for a Goodall. The best one that I liked was a redwood/rosewood dread. The lush overtones and sustain were just what I was looking for, but found the Goodall sound to be a little too jangly( like I was hearing mostly the strings and not the wood). I had several people tell me that an L-25 would have that same great responsiveness, lush overtones, with the guitar just singing even with the lightest touch. But that I would be hearing more of a woody tone, rather than more of the strings. When I took a listen over the phone, LOUD,WOODY,RESPONSIVE,VERSITILE,AND LUSH was what I heard. Sounded like a win win situation since I get 48 hr approval. I am sure that it is a keeper!!! Now, all I need is for thursday to be here today instead of almost a week away!!
