Thanks for the link John...looks like good advice. The humidity is at about 80% right now according to Weather.com (but dropping). I'll be sure and keep and eye on it.

I have a cheap Hygrometer and living in Scotland it usually reads somewhere between 50/70 %.I have had guitars,mandolins and fiddles lying around my various homes for the last 40 years and never noticed a problem,but then I,ve always lived in old houses which were draughty so I guess the central heating effect was watered down.
My present Avalon a Legacy A32 has such fine build quality I just don,t worry about it.

I live in Southern california. Ontario to be exact. I know nothin about guitar humidity. But was told i didn't need a humidifier here in so cal. Is this true?

You live in an area of low humidity. I notice that it is 22% in Ontario today and that is not healthy for a wooden guitar. Have a look at the link I posted earlier in this thread for the effects of low humidity.

It really helps. thank you sooo much. I just got this guitar and im really looking to preserve its life. Keep it sounding superb. Avalon makes fine guitars and id feel really horrible if anything happened my guitar. glad i learned this early.
