I've seen the future...

... and it's silver!!

I finally took the time to really check out the Avalon Silver series today - and after playing one for an hour I can honestly say that I'm gobsmacked!!

What a GREAT guitar! Not, "a great guitar for the money" or "a great guitar seeing as it's MIK" - no, a GREAT guitar.

I think it was an AS101CE (Spruce, Mahogany, cutaway) and it played and sounded fantastic. I must get one of these in the new year - when I do I can see my Lowden O10 spending a lot of time in it's case!!

Congrats guys on a great product - hope (and expect that) they'll sell by the truckload.

Shame - I thought this topic was about Garlic Bread!

What price are you looking at for a Silver series?

sticker price on the one I was playing was £550, which I think may be the retail price (?)

They're really good - try one! :D

I think I have actually. Sadly I will be finding out shortly that I am being made redundant so the cash flow may be drying up so Avalons are off the drool list for the moment... :(

Oh, that's bad - sorry to hear that!

Off the shopping list perhaps, but it costs nothing to have it on the drool list!! :)

Hello Colin,

I agree to you.
I own the model AS201 from the silver series and I am very happy with it.
It has the auditorium shape with the cedar top und the rosewood back and sites.
From time to time I visit guitar shops and test different guitars, but I am always happy that I chose my AS 201.
The handling of the guitar is perfect for me (my guitar shop specially adjusted saddle and neck with a bone replica) and I like the sound of this guitar very much. :D
