good day play2praisehim, welcome to the forums
The 2 are completely different woods. Western Red cedar is one of our standard option woods on models that have the *25 or *10 designation ie: L25 or L10.
The Redwood top is a custom option and on the label of a guitar with this wood, it should say something like *L25 Redwood* to signify the different wood.
There is a possibility that the odd redwood custom model slipped through the net and got labelled without the "Redwood" .... it can happen, thankfully not to often
Red Cedar is great for any type of playing, fingerstyle or strumming, the body size / style will probably have more bearing on strumming than the wood.
A medium to large size soundbox will give better clarity and definition to strummed chords.
hope this helps
