Questions from new A200 owner

Postby dougalanwilcox » 16 Aug 2006, 22:12

Hi all - I'm an acoustic musician in the U.S., a newbie to the forum and the proud new owner of a Gold A200.
I have a couple of questions for the esteemed forum members (or the boss if he's listening in) :)
First: Does anyone know how to read the serial numbers?
Mine is A00138.
Second: Has anyone ever gotten an A200 with plastic bridge pins?
I was under the impression that the standard on Gold models is ebony with pearl. My pins are plastic with abalone.
Just checking to see if anyone else has ever run across this.
The guitar is wonderful - kudos to the boys in the shop!
I endorse K&K pickups (Oregon, U.S.) and have installed their basic system - a three-point bridgeplate transducer setup.
I highly recommend this pickup system for Avalon guitars.
Check out K&K online at www.kksound.com.
I look forward to chatting with you all and to your feedback on my questions.
Thanks!

Hi Doug, welcome to the forums :)

Some of the earlier Gold's went out with plastic/abalone dot pins, only the later releases had ebony/mop.

We keep our serials easy ... A00138 means it was number 138 made of the Gold range.

:)

Hey JB - Thanks! Very helpful.
Is it possible to put an approximate date on number 138?
Thanks again!
