Avalon Production Numbers?

Postby barkley_01007 » 23 Nov 2004, 20:30

Greetings from western Massachusetts, home of the runner-up in the 2004 Presidential election....

I've recently acquired a Gold Series S201 and am really struck by the unique voice and construction of this little guitar.

I'm curious, can anyone tell me how many Avalons are built annually at the Ireland factory and how many are coming out of Korea?

Thanks in advance for your help and for this forum, i'm glad to be here...

Hi - thanks for your input. Glad you like your Gold series guitar. We have begun to draw down Gold Series production here in Ireland as we intend to transfer production to a new facility next year - more about this in the news section later! We're almost at the 1000 serial number for Irish made Gold's - I guess #1000 will be the symbolic final one whenever we reach that milestone!

As for the Korean made Silver series, we like to be discreet about how many are in circulation; we can say that there are several multiples of the total number of Gold's produced so far!

Next year will see the introduction of new jumbo Avalon Silvers which Guitarist magazine reviewed vey positively. We can't wait to send these guitars out!

1000 total?! Sounds like an Irish Avalon Gold would be a good investment!! :D

Hey: I am glad to finally participate in this forum. I recently purchased a Avalon A201ce. I was curious how many of these where made, so thanks for the info. :D I visited The Newtonards facility last fall when We visited Ireland from our home in Alberta Canada. I knew then that I needed one of these beauties, but my wife needed a little more convincing. My 10 year old Larrivee spruce/rosewood has now been officially designated as back up guitar. The blend pickup sounds awesome as well. :D
