Pickup jack fixing

Hi,

Ive got a L12 and wish to add a fishman soundhole pickup. I want to fix the jack end to the guitar, is it viable to drill through the wooden strap pin on bottom of guitar to fit the jack input? or is that a silly idea and would it be better to drill somewhere else or remove the strap pin somehow?

Just remove the wooden end pin, it's not glued in, just a tapered pressure fit.

Wiggle it a bit first to loosen it.
