will avalon guitars "die"?

hello there,
yesterday, i´ve been looking for my "lifetime-guitar" at my local guitar dealer in germany. i played the avalon legacy "L 25 CE". i was deeply impressed by its warm and brilliant tones. unfortunatly, i have to wait about 6 months, until i have the needed money.
my guitar dealer told me, that "avalon" is to be changing into "lowden", again. he also told me, that, therefore, it could be the last chance to buy an avalon guitar, with the "lowden"quality, but for a much lower price.
does he only want to sell, or is this right?
will avalon "die"?
i ´ld be lucky, if someone could help me...

Your local dealer seems to be very mis-informed

Avalons Guitars will NOT be changing it's name back to Lowden, we are and will remain Avalon.

The quality of our guitars will not change either, we will continue to produce some of the worlds finest, hand-made, solid wood guitars available.

Rest assured the Lifetime Warranty is there for a reason !

If you want to speak to me in person about this or if your local dealer is still confused then please call me at the factory, I'll be only to glad to clear any confusion up.

first, i want to thank you for answering me so quickly.
it makes me glad, that avalon will not change and stays the same.
i have a last question concerning avalon and germany:
could it be possible, that avalon won´t deliver guitars in german stores anymore and to buy one would mean to pay expensive taxes?
if this is also wrong, i would be happy!

ps.:
until monday, when i went to my guitar dealer in bochum, my "dream guitar" was a "taylor". still i think, that they build great guitars, but it´s not comparable to the sound of an avalon in my ears.
my great respect to your handcrafts and the whole avalon company!!!

I think your ears heard it right about the difference between Taylor and Avalon. Avalons have a much fuller and richer sound, and are louder too. There appears to be some confusion about Lowden and Avalon. Some think Avalon is out, some think Lowden is out. Both are actually alive and making great guitars in their own ways. I'm sure JB will clarify this much better to you if you ask him.

I totally agree with this. American guitars have plenty of sparkly "razzmatazz" about the tone; it's just my humble opinion.

I am a moderator of a guitar forum, and am a member of various others. I have noticed a growing interest in Avalon, amognst Brits and Americans, so sit tight!!!

I apologise if you think of me as strange when I say this, but I always have the analogy of wine when I compare guitars...

American guitars, sparkling white wine...

Avalon guitars, full bodied red....

(Somebody told me it was the Irish air!!! )

Ewert, we'll deliver guitars to any guitar shops in UK and Europe all they gotta do is call us and ask, infact today I sold a guitar to a customer in Berlin because his local shop didn't have what he wanted, he getting it direct from here in the factory, we're happy, he's happy

We don't deliver direct to USA shops, we have a distributor there to take of that.

seitdem wir den
kompletten Restbestand gekauft haben!!!"

-avalon guitars don´t have a german importeur, since we buyed the whole "rest"

Hi Ewert, what he means is we don't have a direct German importer / distributor, that is correct but that just means music shops can contact us direct for any guitars, infact it can be beneficial for them to do this, probably cost them less no middle man
