WOW, I have arrived.

After 17 years of guitar playing, it feels like I have at last found the right guitar for me....

I am awaiting an Avalon DS200 second hand, after it has been converted to a leftie by the luthier... (Yup, I am a southpaw...)

I have been aware of this brand for about a year now, recommended to me by a friend who waxed lyrical about Avalon/Lowden being the best guitar brand in the world..I finally succombed very recently...

They are soo hard to search for on the web!! I have some decent guitar stores in my area that seem to be hot on selling Taylors/ Martins as their top brand...I am puzzled, as it would be great to support a fairly local, and most of all, British industry. Oh well, supply and demand...

All I can say is that I know there seems to be an underground revival in this brand. Every guitar shop I have telephoned have told me that no, they don't stock Avalons, and they have had enquiries from other customers....

*sits back and waits for the delivery "patiently"*

I have both an Avalon and a Lowden (built at the same factory in Newtownards) and they are really well built fantastic sounding guitars.
Avalons are synonomous with quality and like most things quality they are built to last.

It's nice if Avalon are a bit more in demand, as they deserve to be. My L25C is gorgeous, is comfortable to play and sounds beautiful.

Welcome to the club!
