Sad to see the forums going but then they are quite a quiet place.

But am looking forward to the new era.

Good luck guys, bon chance and a fair wind

Forums going? Please elaborate.

Quiet, yes, but so much better than facebook.

Thanks, dweezil, missed that.

Very sad to see the forum go. I really don't do facebook at all: hate the format - it's a mess and can never be other than poorly organised, and hate the privacy issues and importantly the lack of community feel. Looks bright and sparkly, yes, but that's about it. Thank God the Collings, AGF, Gibson, Larrivee forums etc. maintain a sensible format. If you look at the Avalon facebook site, there is little Avalon user involvement: I can't see how moving everything to facebook will change that, but I suppose it's all part of the reboot and you have to try anything to raise the company profile.

On the plus side, great to see a post from JB - good to see you back, Jim, even if only for a short while.

I agree 110% with you, Boombox.
First, happy to see JB around. You have been a great mate all these years.
And also agree about Facebook. I understand the marketing needs, but Forum was something like an Avalon family, and Facebook is just a machine, no soul.
Well, moving forward does not necessarily means progress.

Have a great 2013.
