My new "old" Avalon A200CE

Postby nicatnite » 27 May 2011, 02:47

Just took possession of an older A200CE in excellent shape - I'm really in love with the tone, playability and volume!!! It's revived my interest in fingerstyle playing (which was the goal in acquiring it) and I'm finding I can't keep my hands off it... Nice work, Avalon! Having never played any Avalons before, I'd love to try an L-Series for general rhythm backup... are there any USA dealers?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
The 100/200 series of Avalon guitars remain GREAT guitars for both finger style and strumming and very good value for money (I have an A100).
If you are thinking of buying a new Avalon, I would recommend dealing directly with the factory in Northern Ireland. They are very helpful and you get a better price that way. It's great to talk to the people who are (hand) making your new guitar! Whilst one should in theory always "play before buying", I didn't and my A100 is just superb. IMHO you would not be disappointed.
