My A12 and My 8 yr old son!

Postby lewddude » 19 Dec 2010, 15:46

Been a while since my last post, but I had to share this with you guys! My 8 year old son has been taking lessons for two months now(I got him started, and then got out of the way) and we got to play at his music school together for our first gig this weekend! Words cant describe what that felt like... I think Avalon should make a 1/2 scale or 3/4 scale acoustic! The last two are video you can click to watch.

Great videos LD, real treasured moments captured in time for you and your family, thanks for sharing them with us :D

You know what kids are like, they learn so fast ... soon he'll be all over the fingerboard and you'll saying, hey slow down there son and teach me some of that stuff !

That was beautiful LD & son! It doesn't get any better than that; and what a great tune to play together, especially during Christmas. Looks like you have a sweet little family there, God Bless'em.

That's truly awesome!! :D
You are right to be proud, I hope my kids are as keen, music is ssuch an amazing thing to share with your kids.....no matter where they go in the world, as long as they have music, they will always have something in common with someone. This has been a great thing for me and I thank my Dad for starting me on the path....as I'm sure your son will thank you in the future!

Awesome post, made my day! :D

This is fantastic, I'm sitting watching this young man's legs swinging, and obviously enjoying playing live with he's dad.

It's almost freaky how he got the last note, but then children are very talented. Well done lewddude, music is one of the most beautiful gifts of this world, and you are sharing it with your son.

You have ended my year perfectly, in HOPE for the future.

I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but it brought a tear to my eye, He's lucky to have a dad --like you!

Thanx Mike! I do have to admit, that his sense of timing is uncanny! We are working on a "Venture's" tune for the next show, and I am very proud of his work! He has a good grip on the neck, but it is still hard to nail some of the chords with his little hand so we took the direction of melody! He is playing the lead for "walk don't run". So much fun I had to bust out my Mosrite guitars!

I will post when we do it!

Hi Ron, this video of you and your son still beats me up. I got my wife to watch it with me today,we both agreed how cool it was. The thing about kids is,they have this unbridled magic. I love to read their poems and stories and I believe they should write songs, instead of thinking only adults do that.

I look forward to hearing he's first song, and remember to tell him everyone can sing. The rule for singing is, "Sing like there's nobody listening".

When I watch your boy play guitar,it seems like he plays like "nobody's watching/listening, this is the SECRET.
