Will you build me an Avalon Electric?

Postby JJK » 28 Sep 2010, 13:14

Before I get dogs abuse, I already have an Avalon Acoustic which I love dearly.

However, I am looking to buy a Gibson Les Paul and have been mulling over a 50th Anniversary model, or Dusk Tiger/Dark Fire. Having looked at the reviews of the Dusk Tiger and Dark Fire, I decided against them immediately.

I then looked at the price of the 50th Anniversary and thought, I would prefer to pay the guys at Avalon the money, I know their workmanship, they are local to me, SUPPORT AVALON. So I thought I would ask the question.

No doubt, I am putting my life at risk and will be hunted down by the purists! I will be at the Tommy Emmanuel Concert in Belfast in a couple of weeks for those who wish to shout obscenities at me.[/img]

I would be interested in that. I have been using some of the older Carvin Koas and I love them. I bet an electric from Avalon would be sweet.

For me, my electrics are used in cover band, money earning gigs, and to teach mostly teenagers who ask for lessons, "my own" playing and music is all acoustic, but the advantage of having an electric with the same neck profile, string spacing and nut width as the L32 I play 98% of the time would be tremendous, and would save me some of the re-adjustment time I need when hired to play electric for people.

I am probably the only person who wants their electric to feel more like my acoustic.....most people are the other way round! :D

I can finger pick on electrics pretty good, but a little wider diameter would be more comfortable. I fingerpick a lot but I also play with a pick pretty often for my rock stuff.
