Ah yes it's that time of the year again for some string cleaning. Much has been said about strings on this forum,so now I have a tip for cleaning strings. Buy a packet of RIZLA cigarette paper's remove a couple of sleeve's place them under your string then glide them up the whole length of the string.
The paper's absord all sweat damp and dirt leaveing no trace of fluff like you get with cloths. I was taught this trick many years ago by the saxaphone player in my band who also played the flute. I saw him opening the keys on his flute and placing the paper's inside, then he closed the key leaveing the paper's to absord the damp.
He informed me he used the same method to clean the strings on he's 12string guitar and suggested I give it a go. I've been doing it now for 25 years and yes it works a treat. So just think if you use ELIXIRS you'll only need to buy one set a year--"now thats the game"
