New rule added

In the past couple of months there have been a few people becoming members for the sole purpose of advertising, not that that in itself is bad or a problem but they have no interest in being part of the guitar forums for the purpose of posting and contributing to the community, their only aim is to use their member listing to point to a website.

Normally the website they try to advertise is either full of offensive material, various gambling sites or one of those annoying free ring tone sites.

Thankfully most members don't abuse this and have links to "normal" personal websites, that's fine and that's the whole purpose, I enjoy visiting members websites, especially players with song samples and mini-bio's about their band and playing styles etc, but links to offensive websites are not acceptable.

So .... as a request to new members, please do not abuse the option for personal links by using it for dubious, offensive, annoying, spamming, gambling websites ... I Thank You
